Hatice Nur Eken, MD

Psychiatrist · New York City

I trained in Cognitive Science at Yale, earned my MD at Vanderbilt, and completed my psychiatry residency at the University of Pittsburgh's Western Psychiatric Hospital. I am in private practice in New York City. I am also an incoming faculty member at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, where I will begin seeing patients in August 2026.

I work with adults through medication management, psychotherapy, and comprehensive psychiatric evaluation — with particular focus on OCD and related disorders, treatment-resistant depression, interventional psychiatry consultation, and the mental health of people in demanding, high-ambiguity roles.

I am also a researcher, with work in clinical trials and academic psychiatry published in The Lancet Psychiatry, Molecular Psychiatry, Nature Mental Health, and JAMA Cardiology.

My work begins with a careful understanding of the person in front of me: what they are experiencing, what has shaped them, and what they hope will change.

Trained at the University of Pittsburgh Department of Psychiatry, recipient of the Gold Foundation Humanism & Excellence in Teaching Award, and a scholar with the ETUDES Center.
